afterthought

Just had another call from my Dad who, as an afterthought on reading my old diary, decided to phone me just to say he thinks I am a (in his words) "wonderful human being".

*gulps tearfully*

I told him that if that's true, then he must have had something to do with it.

You asked me a while ago why I keep bailing my Dad out. It's because he sometimes makes comments like thhis, too.
