Didn't want to post this in [livejournal.com profile] katyha's journal because I don't want to start a fight there. I'm fine having a scrap here, though. If you don't know what I'm talking about, move along quietly now, please.

I think mass isolated dancing in Victoria Station at 6:58pm is a fantastic idea. It's one of the most hilarious things I've heard all week. The station is so big that 50 people dancing to themselves won't be remotely disruptive; there will, however, be enough commuters around for the dancers to have an audience. If you don't like it, go get yourself a sense of humour.

Oh, and - class issue my arse.

Right. Grrr. So come and have a go if you think you're hard enough...

I totally agree. I wish I had a Walkman with me so I could join in.

I agree. Random insane things happening is one of the great things about living in a city. Regular stupid annoying delays planned by people with the power are one of the bad things. This is the former, not the latter.

The worst of the rush hour is over by then, too. If you did it any earlier everyone would be too close to each other for anyone else to see.
I'll be going near there this evening - will have a look.

I missed the original thread, so forgive me if I've just repeated the bleedin' obvious!

Well, I don't (obviously) want to argue, so have deleted my comment. My opinion remains roughly the same, though, so I shall just take ajva off my default filter till I'm feeling more up to coping with her style of debate.

I think it's a fantastic idea, and should be encouraged.

I am at a loss as to how it's a class issue, that makes a huge assumption about the people taking part.

Oh dear Claire, didn't you see the part on the website where it said only pompous aristocrats wearing tasteless overpriced clothing were allowed to take part. And only if they're white. Platinum card waving instead of glowsticks, eh?

I was in Soho the other day when suddenly there was one of these mass action things appearing around me, about thirty people on rollerblades and bikes with a loud stereo playing dance music while the people blew whistles and horns and things. The traffic was disrupted, the noise was a disturbance but it was absolutely the kind of thing I think we need to see happening more often in this city.

Bah! Original post now deleted so dont know how it went - who raised class issue point and how did that go?

And in case my original comment did not make it clear - I think it is a fab idea too, notwithstanding that my initial reaction where I there might be commuter rage. We are complex individuals, we human beings...

:o)

I wasn't ignoring your comment because of a typo! No, I'm just a bit scunnered by [livejournal.com profile] katyha's adverse reaction, so I'm trying not to add to the thread too much.

Besides, any attempt at introducing the subjunctive mood to LJ should be lauded, not nitpicked... ;o)

Sounds like a laugh - why wouldn't it be?

*Really* don't have time for an argument about it though...
