You know your cycling fitness isn't quite up to its pre-Xmas levels when you're actively hoping the lights at the end of the cycle lane will turn red before you get there.

Hah. For me this was the first time since mid Dec I couldn't think of a single decent excuse for avoiding getting on my bike. Except for the one I realised about halfway there, which was the horrible headwind heading west into the City.
Felt like death when I got in.
