One of our work servers has suffered "catastrophic failure" and so everything is being restored from backup throughout today. Graham the IT boss is looking a little stressed. So's everyone else, as we hang on to see if the differential backups give us back later versions of our stuff. Or are we going to have to redo the past four days' work.

Also, I have to go replace the inner tube on the back wheel of my bike at lunchtime. Not looking forward to it much. Especially as my adjustable spanner has got a bit burred of late. Fun fun fun.

In the meantime, to lift the spirits a little, here's a link to Ladder Theory, for those of you who haven't seen it.

FWIW, I cannot recommend strongly enough that you acquire a non-adjustable spanner for the purposes of such things. Mine cost about 2 quid from the very-local-bike-shop (On Yr Bike, Evans etc don't seem to carry them; hardware shop also should do). Mine is 15mm. It is so. much. easier. to do the job with than the adjustable one.

I got a *full* set of metric tools from Halfords for 25 quid. Recommended.
