I've got a new project: making a list of my top 10 sexiest pop videos, but the top 10 has to be of the song/video combination rather than just either the video or song per se. I want to take some time over it, to get a comprehensive answer, and to this end, I'm asking you for your suggestions. I'd like a good spread of styles, so I'm happy to be introduced to new things to consider. Examples from my current longlist include Stand and Deliver by Adam and the Ants, Queer by Garbage and Justify My Love by Madonna. Those are all pretty mainstream, which is why I'm giving them as examples, as most people will have heard of them - so just to give you an idea of what I mean by the importance of the marriage of song and video. I need many more and varied ones to come up with a good top 10, though: at least a good 50 or so, I would have thought, to make a fair decision. Of course, it will still end up being my taste, but I'd be grateful for some assistance.

And I'll probably need a couple of months to make my final decision. So stay tuned! The final list will have reasons attached. :o)

Aha - Take on Me

Though I must add that I wall papered my bedroom (ceiling included) with pictures of Morten Harket so it might just be me!

Ironically, although I did like A-ha at the time, music-wise, I was never really one to have crushes on pop stars. And it's ironic because Stef in his younger days was the absolute spit of Morten Harket. To the point where, when he was 14, he went along to an A-ha concert with his girlfriend at the time and got mobbed on the way out because a bunch of girls mistook him for the real thing. And you could still see it a bit when I first met him...to the point where, about six months into our relationship, I met him in Paddington station at lunchtime during the workday, and took along my workmate Nicky - who, when we got back to the office, with no prompting at all, commented - with, unusually for her, a slightly blushingly shy note to her voice - that he looked just like Morten Harket.

I always find it very ironic that one of the few girls of our generation who didn't really give much of a shit about fancying Morten Harket ended up with his lookalike. Not that he looks like him these days, of course. :o)
