Hi there. I wonder if you can all help me. I turn 30 next February and I want to have huge party goodness - but the date I was going to use for a birthday party (7th Feb - my birthday's on the 5th) clashes with the winks club dinner, which is an absolute social must for me. I'm also still unsure what I'm going to do to celebrate. The only thing I'm certain of is that I want to do a variety of things so that as many people as possible have a chance to come to some of it.

To this end, a poll...

All the event ideas sound great. I fervently hope to be able to make it on whatever date is arranged - generally speaking, February would be better because I should be expressing milk by then and thus able to leave the house in the evening. :) But it will still depend on finding a babysitter, assuming that both fathers will want to attend your birthday as well. On the whole it would probably be best not to take me into account when planning dates.

Good luck. Jo Anna absolutely refused to have breastmilk in a bottle. So she went everywhere mummy did.

Fortunately, two or three month-old babies are very portable and sleep a lot. If there's any horizontal baby-sized space they can be left in (no rolling over yet!) they should be fine. Or finding people to volunteer their shoulder to act as a bed for a baby is not difficult.

When she was slightly older (about five or six months from memory) we were surprised and pleased when she was fine with water in a cup, provided she could hold it.

But milk had to be 'direct from source' until it was mixed with baby rice from five months.
