Gnomes checked in to the executive suite of Hotel Annie this morning. Accordingly, I have decided to reveal a home truth that blokes may not like to hear.

You know all those times you've dismissed the insults a girl's hurled at you because 'she's on her period', and you have to be understanding?

Yeah well, here's something: when she's got her period is the *only* time she tells the whole truth about what she thinks. It's giving her the courage and recklessness to be honest.

It's the *rest* of the time she's not 'being herself' - to save your feelings.

Ah yes, sorry about that. My aim is a noble one, though - to prevent further occurrences of conversations like this one (disclaimer: the following is a totally fictional exchange dreamed up by me to make the point):

You lazy shit!
