The skip for house clearance at Forest Drive East has been booked for the weekend of 13th/14th March.

Anyone who has lived with us over the past few years should come over for a visit to remove all their stuff before then. We will emphatically NOT be "just bring[ing] X to the pub" - you must come and get your stuff yourself or it goes in the skip. This includes post, [livejournal.com profile] sgloomi's assorted stuff, [livejournal.com profile] jhg's blue shirt and anything that has been left behind at parties we don't fancy keeping, as well as doubtless several tons of stuff I don't know about.

Please arrange a date to come over to our place before then to collect your stuff. No exceptions.

Thank you! :o)

Skip Ahoy!

I have no idea if there is stuff of mine in your house or not!

Eeeek! Should I come down on the weekend itself and skip-fish?

Ok.
I'm pretty sure that Mike has left his sleeping bag at yours but seeing as we will both be at the house on 6th / 7th we'll pick up any stuff then?

Good luck with all the moving stuff...

hey, ajva, why so excited?

The Passion of The Christ (http://www.ThePassionOfTheChrist.com) is in theaters soon - this week on Wednesday.. what do you think about this movie? I'm going to see it for sure - the trailers (http://www.thepassion.tv) were enough to convince me. I read somewhere that it's the widest opening ever for a subtitled movie; I have a feeling subtitles won't detract from the full effect of this movie though. After looking at the trailers which have no subtitles or english at all, it was reinforced for me that lack of spoken english in this film won't hurt one bit. To sum up my impression of The Passion: it's a work of art.
Good Website (http://www.passion-movie.com)
Another fascinating aspect to this movie is all the controversy that has been generated about it.
Some people, not really representative of Jewish people, but rather self appointed Jewish spokespeople, such as Abraham Foxman from the Anti-Defamation League, seem to have been attempting to denounce this film for months as being anti-Semitic. The news reported that they even stole the script last year! But here's what some Jews say (Jews who don't make it their job to tear apart other people): by Rabbi Daniel Lapin.

Nice to see some people speaking rationally.

So what do you think of all this?

Kyle is my favourite! His way into [livejournal.com profile] spikeylady's last post was great, saying that he also enjoyed [livejournal.com profile] ergotia's latest CD and by the way... *snort*

How much of the big furniture-type stuff that's mine (computer station, shelf-unit, table unit, &c) and how much that I have a generally half-claim to (metal bedstead, wooden sofa thing, etc, etc) should be regarded as, well, *mine* if I want it?

I don't want to just assume that everything I want is mine ... but then again, I don't wanna assume that a nice bed bought by my folks isn't, and then find out too late that nobody else actually wanted it.

Oops!

I meant that last bit as the other end of an hypothetical extreme - then suddenly realised that it was possible to read more into it than I meant. Apologies if anybody did. :-)

If you find a black fluffy turtleneck pullover with sparkly bits, it's mine and I'll pick it up.

I want my Taz bedding, and will be over to sort through stuff on various week-ends!
Also helping with the move, so any assorted stuff coming from the depths can be harpooned or netted!

(...subject to that being OK with people in the house, obviously. I wasn't expecting to just drive up and grab stuff.) ;-)
