Willkommen, bienvenue, welcome
Feb. 13th, 2008 08:24 pmOK, so
stefanc and I are going to Berlin tomorrow for a week, and being joined by some of his pals on Monday morning. We're going to visit some of his relatives there, and we will of course be taking in quite a few of the obvious sights.
So here's my question: is there anything - any place, any shop, any club, any gallery etc. - that anyone here would recommend we go to? I'm looking for suggestions a bit off the beaten track, as we're bound to take in things like the Reichstag, the former Wall site etc. Any ideas? I'm going to be out of internet reach from about 5pm tomorrow, so do let me know before then if you can...
Vielen Dank!

Date: 2008-02-13 09:04 pm (UTC)Clubs - I used to go goth/alternative clubbing around the Prenzlauer Berg area. My favourite club was Klangfabrik, on Sundays, in Dunker on Dunkerstrasse - chilled out and friendly; also worth checking out what's happening at K17 in Kadinerstrasse, which is bigger and has a garden with a fire! I met all sorts of cool folks in these clubs - it was K17 where I unexpectedly bumped into a pal from Edinburgh. Definitely go clubbing wherever you go - Berlin is so alive and the clubs are where you feel it best.
I envy you!

Date: 2008-02-13 10:32 pm (UTC)The big museums on 'museum island' have some glorious ancient stuff from the age of 'dig it up and cart it home' age of archaeology.
