congestion charging

My own journey into work today (two buses - the recently introduced 476 route [Stef's house - Euston], then route 18 [Euston - Paddington]) was noticeably quieter. In fact, it seemed as if the whole thing is going to be an absolutely gigantic success. Hurrah!

of course, if the (C) is outwards from you (ie you are 'in the zone' - wonder if that'll become as good as once saying you were 0171-?) then you should have registered for the 90% discount. It seems something like 80% of residents haven't done so yet and will be getting fined for having a car on the street (I assume if it is in a garage or on a forecourt off the road then no fee is payable...)

Ken was on the tele yesterday saying that he didn't expect to need to increase the £5 per day but *did* expect/intend to enlarge the area (wonder how far... north/south circular?) if it worked well; he said that boroughs/people living just outside the zone "wanted to be in the congestion charge area" - ahuh.

Anyway, best way to get rid of congestion is to ban the school run......

No. CC becomes payable when the car is in motion. When it's parked, no matter where, the CC does not need to be paid.
